With the guitarist and drummer of the now demised Emperor, now having changed musical direction, they have reinvented death metal. With Morbid Angel being a prominent influence, as well as bringing in a surprising amount of Slayer, and the obvious Emperor sound, this album fuses the best of the best. This album is the follow up to 2001`s successful `World ov Worms` with a new singer/bass player.
This album is death metal for the new age, as opposed to new age death metal. No signs of melody are found in this excruciating pinnacle of extremity. Standout tracks like `Psyklon Aeon`, `The Prophetic Method` and `An Eclectic Manner` simply stick with you for days, beating your head from the inside with relentless brilliance and crushing deviance. Aeon has set a new precedent in a stale genre. There`s not a single bad song, and not even a filler to derive from this albums charm. Simply one of the best death metal albums of all time.
