| MORTAL SIN Return From a Successful Tour Of Europe With OVERKILL. |
Legendary Australian heavy metal band MORTAL SIN have sent in the following update to HailMetal.Com e'zine regarding their tour of Europe with OVERKILL:
"The month of March will be remembered by MORTAL SIN as the most successful venture away from their home territory ever when they supported U.S. thrash legends OVERKILL through 15 shows in Europe. Beginning with two Metalmania Festivals headlined by MEGADETH in The Czech Republic and Poland, the tour then rolled into the former capital Munich. With many of the shows being sold out, Overkill vocalist Bobby Elsworth paid tribute to Mortal Sin as "a perfect match up for Overkill, a great package for promoters...- we tried for months to get Exodus as the support, but you know what? Fuck Exodus, Mortal Sin have done way better than we would have hoped Exodus would do!" Overkill made Mortal Sin more than welcome and fun times were had in each of the cities we played."
"By the time the tour reached Essen (home town of Kreator), the crowds were getting louder and louder for Mortal Sin. It was like a time machine had transported us all back to 1987 - wristbands, denim jackets, hair flying everywhere and bodies landing on the stage non stop throughout the Mortal Sin and Overkill sets. In Gothenburg, Sweden on the last show of the Overkill tour Mortal Sin were invited up on stage to sing "Old School" with Bobby and the gang, such was the respect shown - the offer was accepted and the respect returned!'
"From Sweden Mortal Sin travelled North to Oslo in Norway for the 2008 Inferno Festival, one of the most important Scandinavian metal festivals, this year featuring Onslaught, Behemoth, Vreid, Gorgoroth, Satyricon, Unleashed, 1349, Overkill and Destruction among others. At minus 4 degrees, it was the coldest night of the tour and the streets were covered in Ice. Mortal Sin opened the main stage in the Rockefeller Centre and won over the predominantly Black Metal crowd with a blistering set which was recorded on CD and will be soon be released as an official Live Bootleg. It was a brilliant end to a brilliant tour."

| LEICOHTICA & NEVETHERYN Announce Joint Australian Tour. |
SMiM writes "Australia's multi-layered gothic black metal band LEICOHTICA and unconventional epic post-rock/metal act NEVETHERYM have announced Australian mini-tour dates for March/April 2008. The groups will be supporting their latest releases, "The Balance of Fire" and "Rendezvous", respectively.
Mar 28 @ The Brisbane Hotel, Hobart, TAS
Mar 29 @ The Central Club, Melbourne, VIC
Mar 30 @ Newmarket Hotel, Bendigo, VIC
Apr 02 @ The Bass Bar, Wagga Wagga, NSW
Apr 03 @ The Basement, Wagga Wagga, NSW
Apr 04 @ The Basement, Canberra, ACT
Apr 05 @ The Harp, Sydney, NSW
Apr 06 @ The Grand Hotel, NSW
According to LEICOHTICA's official bio, the group's latest CD has been described by critics as "defiantly beautiful and angelically graceful whilst simultaneously bearing the full force of hell down upon its listeners." To get this sound the band uses soprano, mezzo-soprano and baritone operatic voices with crushing death metal growls, furious double kickers and devastating guitar riffage to create its disobediently eclectic "beauty-and-the-beast" style.

| CHRIS BRODERICK Joins MEGADETH. |
MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has officially confirmed that the band has parted ways with guitarist Glen Drover and replaced him with Chris Broderick (NEVERMORE, JAG PANZER).
"I've noticed [on the Internet] that people are pissed with me over the way things were handled with Glen quitting the group," says Mustaine, "but they're gonna be pissed even more when they hear how fierce we are with Chris! MEGADETH is playing at a new level."
In a November 2007 posting on the forum of MEGADETH's official fan club, MegaFanClub (accessible to members only), Mustaine stated about Drover, "sadly, Glen is having a really difficult time handling the demands of touring and we are finding that we are having to cut our European run down already, but that it is going to be one of the last long ones for some time."
Broderick will make his live debut with MEGADETH on February 4 in Finland, where the group — Mustaine, Broderick, drummer Shawn Drover and James Lomenzo on bass — is kicking off a long string of international dates which wrap March 14 in Bangalore, India.

| DOBULE DRAGON: Enter Studio To Record Debut Album. |
DoubleDragon writes "Australia's DOUBLE DRAGON have entered the studio to record their highly anticipated debut album titled 'Devastator'.
After releasing their debut EP 'Scars Of Fire' in 2006, the critically acclaimed release took the band to new heights, headlining shows across Australia and also landed them supports with international metal acts Slayer, Mastodon, Cephalic Carnage, Black Dahlia Murder, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity and also landed them a spot on the Australian music festival, The Big Day Out. Double Dragon have returned to the studio with producer Ian Miller, promising to make a work of metal that will stand the test of time and cement Double Dragon in Australian metal history.
As for the songs, vocalist Lee states "This is our heaviest work to date, and in hindsight its probably the sound we have been searching for since day 1. There are new elements to the songs, alot more experimentations but at the same time we have concentrated on our strengths, which essentially is twin guitar harmonies, groove and lots of melodic riffs".
"Lyrically the songs are darker, and the vocals will be a heavier than previous Double Dragon releases, but we have also written a couple of ballady type tracks, more classic rock in the vein of mellow Black Sabbath. We will always be a metal band, but the freedom of playing metal music gives us alot of room to experiment with different sounds, and I think our weed smoking fans will understand where we are coming from with the mellow tracks. I really feel these songs are going to be great live, and I cant wait to hit the road again and show the world a good ole fashioned Australian metal ass kicking".
'Devastator' is due for release in June 2008."
