Carcass - co-founders of grind and still the best gore-grind band out there
Suffocation - Pioneers of Brutal Death Metal, they single handedly re-invigourated death metal in the mid 90's
Cannibal Corpse - One of The First Wave Of Death Metal Bands and have created some perfect Death Metal albums
Demillich - Changed the way and reason Death Metal Vocalists put down vocal tracks and how vocals could really drive songs. Before them Death Metal was considered to be driveen by the guitar
Vital Remains - Dawn of Apocalypse is regarded as a modern day Classic. In Time where every band is doing the Brutal Stuff, they refined their sound added texture and technicality without a million blastbeats per second |

Byrne fucking wins it. Everything I removed I'm not familiar with, NOT unimpressed by (for referances sake). But you forgot Bolt Thrower.
Also, have you not heard Diabolical Conquest by Incantation? It features Daniel from The Chasm on guitars and vox, and has quite a few Chasm-ish moments, but with a more straight-up brutal edge. |

im not going to launch into a debate about all this. i think you are wrong to some extent, right a little bit, but in any case, that doesn't relegate decapitated from deserving respect. effectively my argument being that decapitated are overall, better than any of the above, the only thing that makes them less comparable in your mind is that they came later in the piece.

The site used to go down for days on end, but it's pretty good these days. Create an account and it'll show you an upload monitor for your file (upload status+time remaining), which is handy. |
