New Zealand change their currency

'New 10, 20 and 50 cent pieces are being rolled out in the biggest change to our money since decimal currency was introduced 39 years ago.

Like its 1 and 2 cent predecessors, the 5 cent coin will be phased out. Shoppers have until the end of October to spend the "old money".

As of November it will cease to be legal tender, but will still be redeemable at the Reserve Bank. '

'The new coins will retain current designs but the 10 cent coin will be copper coloured. The new 20 cent coins will feature the Maori carving pukaki rather than the pre-1990 kiwi motif which was transferred to the $1 coin in 1991.

From tomorrow consumers will receive the new coins as change.'

Im all for the chageing of currency as long as its ripping the queens head of our fucken money.

I just hope they do the same with Australian currency and take that queen whore's head off of it! Cool

i am too but not when there is more important things to spend money on like th excuse have for a public health system for one
