Stargazer - The Scream that Tore the Sky
Avant-garde blackened death metal with occult themes. Un-fucking real.
Mournful Congregation - The Monad of Creation
Haven't heard it yet but apparently it's lightyears ahead of their other material, that I already enjoyed very much.
Witchcraft - Firewood
Sounds really good. Clearer production than the debut, more prog-rock-ish, should be pretty fuckin' killer doom in the Black Sabbath tradition. A good contender for top 5 albums of '05... though we'll see.
Wigrid - Die Asche Eines Lebens
Probably shitty Burzum worship again. I dunno, I kinda liked the first album. |

Gestapo 666 - Black Gestapo Metal
A pure black metal holocaust. Not for new comers
Urfaust - Verräterischer, Nichtswürdiger Geist
I've given this many listens over the past month, just so it wasn't a 'new purchase hype', and I have come to the conclusion it is one of my new favourite albums. It's a refinement of Geist ist Teufel, with even more killer atmosphere. Very depressing. |

Pelican - The Fire in Our Throats will Beckon the Thaw
Quite godly. Instrumental-only (no vox), melodic, droning, and evolving jam-like soundscapes. A real pleasure to listen to no matter your tastes.
Urgrund - Unchangeable Fate
Only just heard of this. I wasn't expecting anything new from them... in fact, I thought they were on hiatus. The track I've heard from the Redstream site sounds fucking killer... total aggression like early D666. Will check it out. |

Urgrund got a full line up again only just this year. Hexx/Hushy (Trench Hell, Carbon) played his last show with Carbon at this years Bloodlust as he is moving/moved to Melbourne to further Trench Hell and taking up the axe for Urgrund! |

Cheers for that, you're an eternal source of valued information. I read this arvo that Hexx had joined Urgrund, but it's good to know the full story. Looking foward to them coming up this way to play! Your (other) guitarist plays for them too though eh? |

I just read a lot of metal sources well..that and knowing a lot of the heavy weights is handy, I'm always one for wanting to more about something heh.
The other guitarist in FV used to play in Urgrund, before Bolthorn moved to Melbourne. Gryphon was drumming for Urgrund too at that point. |

Glorior Belli - Ô Laudate Dominus
Deathspell Omega / Watain styled orthodox black metal. Razor sharp and damn good. Review coming shortly.
Morrigan - Headcult
I don't like it much. It doesn't stand up next to Celts which is an amazing album. Meh.
Averse Sefira - Tetragrammatical Astygmata
Seems good to me. Will require more listens though.
Ondskapt - Dodens Evangelium
Don't be fooled into thinking this band are anything more than a second rate De Mysteriis... worship band. Even though this was meant to be much better than their previous effort, it still stinks like average. |

Warbutcher - Bulldozer Of Semitic Destruction
. I love this. Wasn't expecting much good from an album title like that, but this is great, American War Metal, as they call themselves. |

DragonForce - Inhuman Rampage
is it just me or are these guys just pulling these release outta their arses!
nevertheless an awesome release! (yes it has been leaked quite early for a Jan 2006 release date)
despite the fast reproduction of new material, it far from lacks any sort of quality that DF seem to trigger in their material, really a must have release for all DF fans and pm fans alike, check it out guys, you surely won't be disappointed |
